The next SAJCC will be hosted by Nortern Cape from 3-10 January 2015!

Interprovincial 10 May 2014

April 23, 2014

As stated in previous post, due to circumstances beyond our control, the Welkom Inter Provincial for 2014 will not be taking place this year.

For those that wanted to know why- all other provinces withdrawn because of lack of info and players that aren’t available. That left us really no choice.

We wanted to participate together with Freestate in an event, but the the date is occupied by schools chess in Bloemfontein and only Freestate schools will be able to participate.

The only option left for us – We will hold a normal Northern Cape tournament on the 9&10th May. Full Northern Cape colors will still be given to the selected players as if they participated in the Interprovincial and clothes will be given out at the event. Refunds of the other monies will be made electronically.  Please send your bank details together with proof of payment to the NC Treasurer.  Please give some time as it will be a lot processing and payments.

Interprovincial 10 May 2014

April 21, 2014

Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control, the Welkom Inter Provincial for 2014 will not be taking place this year.

We will however participate, together with Free State, in an individual  Inter Union tournament  in Bloemfontein on the same date. Northern Cape colors will still be awarded to this players. We apologize for the inconvenience, but its beyond our control.

Please note that we can only award Northern Cape Colors if you participated in an event and can’t give it out only because a player was selected in the first place, therefor we are trying our utmost best to arrange such an event with Freestate so that the players that earned their Provincial colors can be rewarded.

More info will be available by Friday.

Its with great sadness that we’ve learned of the passing of prof Schalk of Freestate. He a great arbiter and ambassador of the sport. We will miss him dearly.
