As part of NC Chess’s agenda towards transparency and accountability please find below the Audited Financials for NC Chess 2015/2016 under the leadership of the previous NC Chess Executive Committee for your information:

Reduced Tournament Fees and Chess SA Membership Fees

Dear Chess Community

The Executive Committee of Northern Cape Chess took the following resolutions:

1.1. Players who cannot afford the tournament registration fee of R120 for Northern Cape Inter-Provincial Trials and Chess SA membership fee of R100 (Juniors) or R200 (Adults) must do the following:

1.1.1. Present an affidavit indicating that they cannot afford the costs;
1.1.2. The affidavit must be witnessed by a Commissioner of Oath/SAPS;

1.2. Players who cannot afford the fees and comply with the above requirements will be eligible to pay reduced Tournament Fees and Chess SA Membership Fee. The reduced amounts are as follow:

1.2.1. Northern Cape Inter-Provincial Trials Registration Fee will be R50; and
1.2.2. Chess SA membership Fee will be R20 – Juniors (U/08 – U/20); or
1.2.3. Chess SA Membership Fee will be R40 – Adults.

Selection Criteria – Inter-Provincials (North West Province)

Dear Chess Community

The Selection Criteria for the Inter-Provincial Tournament in Rustenburg, North West Province, will be as follows:

  1. For Selection you must participate in the Inter-Provincial Trials on the 31 March 2017 and 01 April 2017 at the Sol Plaatje University;
  2. There will be an Open and Girls/Ladies Section;
  3. Girls/Ladies can play in the Open Section, but Boys/Gents cannot participate in the Girls/Ladies Section.
  4. Top five players from each age and gender group will be selected;
  5. All players tied 5th position will also be selected.

Inter-Provincials Trials : Affordable Accommodation

Dear All,

NC Chess have engaged the Horseshoe Inn to assist our chess community with affordable accommodation. They have arranged a special rate for the chess players who will be participating in the Inter-Provincials Trials.

The cost per night for Bed and Breakfast (per person sharing) is R205. Additional cost for supper will be R45 per evening.

The normal price is R315 per person.

Inter-Provincial Trials : 31 March 2017 and 01 April 2017

Dear Chess Community

The Inter-Provincials Trials under the auspices of the Northern Cape Chess Federation will be having the Inter-Provincial Trials (Chess SA rated) at the Sol Plaatje University in Kimberley on the 31 March 2017 & 01 April 2017.

We are formally inviting you to participate in this tournament. There will be various sections to accommodate players from all age groups. Registration will be R120 per player and for Chess SA Membership Fees, R100 for Juniors and R200 for Seniors. Players who participated in the SAJCC 2016 & Inter-Region 2016 in Johannesburg already paid their Chess SA membership fees and do not have to pay again at Trails.

Entry Closes on Wednesday the 29th of March 2017 at 18:00.  Late Registration will start the 2nd Round.

Attached hereto, please find a notice regarding all outstanding rating fees and Provincial annual subscriptions due by all Provinces and some Regions. The stipulated payments are due for immediate settlement, failing which no further tournaments and results will be accepted to be Chess SA or FIDE rated.
